While traveling through the farmland of eastern Solano County in California, I was taken by the site of an old, derelict barn next to a field of towering wind turbines. The contrast of the old and the new motivated me to get out my oils and record the scene. As is typical in California, the brilliant light heightens the yellow, white, blue and green colors. Even the hot summer sun did not deter me (though I paid a price for not wearing a hat!).
