I love traveling to Cape Cod and have spent memorable times relaxing and taking advantage of the painting opportunities available.
These are a few shots of my 2014 visit when I attended a watercolor workshop at Castle Hill in Truro, Massachusetts, run by my good friend and fellow artist, Gerald Simcoe. We painted inside for the most part, and I was inspired by a fellow workshop artist named Kim working on a still life.
I also took time to paint on Race Point, just outside of Provincetown. The dunes, the scrappy vegetation and the placid sea offer many inviting motifs. I settled on the old Ranger Station, solitary and alone among the shifting sands.
