This painting is an old favorite. It was sold awhile back to a collector in Houston. I am working on a new theatre interior that I hope to finish soon. This motif has always appealed to me greatly, with the dramatic sweeping balconies and box seats, coupled with the brilliant shimmering lights. The audience is usually more intriguing to me than the play, but that’s me in a nutshell. I call this scene Intermission.
